Build a consistent, evidence-based interviewing process that identifies talent, reduces bias, and improves hiring decisions.
Effective interviewing requires more than asking good questions—it requires a structured approach for identifying the skills, behaviors, experience, and potential that predict success in a role. Hiring for Performance: Mastering Structured and Behavioral Interviewing equips HR professionals, recruiters, hiring managers, and leaders with practical techniques for conducting consistent, objective, and effective interviews. Participants will learn how to develop competency-based questions, use behavioral interviewing techniques, probe for meaningful examples, and evaluate candidate responses against clearly defined criteria. Through interactive exercises, interview practice, realistic candidate scenarios, and peer feedback, participants will learn how to gather stronger evidence and make more informed hiring decisions. The course also addresses common interviewing challenges, including unconscious bias, inconsistent questioning, leading questions, and over-reliance on intuition. Participants will leave with a practical framework for structuring interviews, evaluating responses, documenting observations, and selecting candidates based on evidence rather than assumptions.
